About Us
Since 1977, Block Tops, Inc. has specialized in custom design, fabrication and installation of high-quality Butcher Block and Solid Surface products.
Damien Bates founded the company in July 1977. The initial product line for Block Tops, Inc. was Butcher Block furniture and countertops – hence the name and logo. Over a period of time, the sales of solid surface overtook the sales of Butcher Block and became the company’s primary product line.

- 1994
- A custom cabinet line was added to our family of products.
- 1998
- A new facility opened in Rancho Cordova, CA.
- 2000
- Slab granite was added to our family of products
- 2002
- A new facility opened in Vista, CA.
- 2003
- Opened Corporate Sales and Training Office.
- 2005
- Moved Anaheim Headquarters to include New Engineered Stone Fabrication Facility.
- Relocated Rancho Cordova Branch to larger Sacramento Facility.
- 2007
- Became a member of the Artisan Group, LLC.
- 2009
- Received our Marble Institute of America Accreditation.
- 2010
- Received EPA Lead Renovator Certificate.
